Summary: A cute and short crossover between NewJeans with Bunini and Hello Kitty with My Melody.
My Melody, alone, finds an unexpected guest for her picnic.
On a sunny day, My Melody stands alone on a red and pink checkered blanket. Her picnic basket, filled with sweet treats, is still unopened.
She had wanted to invite Kuromi but she was busy with her new career as a VTuber. The white rabbit wearing pink loves Kuromi's content, which is always charming, full of humor and tricks but she would have liked to spend some time with her friendly rival.
My Melody could have invited Hello Kitty but the white lady cat went on a romantic vacation with her dearest Dear Daniel. The rabbit is a little jealous of Hello Kitty. She would like to have a lover.
Sighing, My Melody opens her picnic basket, takes out a cat-shaped cookie and eats it. She was about to take a cupcake when she saw a pink rabbit in the distance. My Melody has never seen him before. The pink bunny is wearing headphones and bobbing his head while humming a song in a language My Melody doesn't understand. Since the rabbit wearing pink knows that he won't hear her even if she screams, she approaches him.
“Hi!”
“Oh, hello,” he said, removing his headphones.
“I am My Melody and you are?”
“My name is Bunini. I am NewJeans' mascot.”
“New-what?” asks the rabbit wearing pink.
“NewJeans. Korean pop idols,” replied Bunini.
“I've never heard of them.”
“It must be said that their career is on hold.”
“Really? Why?”
“Legal troubles. I don’t like to talk about it.”
“Oh, I’m sorry!”
“Don't apologize. You didn't know.”
“By the way, what language were you humming in? Korean?”
“Absolutely. Hey, is that picnic basket over there yours?”
“Yes. I wanted to invite some friends but they weren't available.”
“Well then... can I invite myself to your picnic?” asks the pink bunny.
My Melody leaps with happiness and invites Bunini to join her on the red and pink checkered blanket. The two rabbits have a great time together. They eat candy, chocolate, cookies, and cupcakes until they empty the picnic basket.
My Melody tells Bunini about Kuromi and Hello Kitty, and since Bunini has a cell phone he was able to watch videos of Kuromi as a VTuber.
“Whoa!” he said. “Your friend is talented!”
“I know,” replied My Melody, “but we're more like friendly rivals than close friends.”
“Friendly rivals? That's interesting.”
The two bunnies continue chatting until the sun begins to decline in the sky. Bunini says goodbye to My Melody, puts his headphones back on and starts humming again as he leaves. My Melody puts her blanket back in her picnic basket, picks it up and heads home. She can't wait to tell Kuromi and Hello Kitty all about Bunini.
